I recently gave birth at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible care I received. From the moment I arrived, the Labor and Delivery team made me feel supported, cared for, and truly listened to.

I want to give a special thank you to Nurse Kim and Nurse Morgan, whose compassion and expertise made all the difference during labor. Nurse Morgan was especially professional, guiding me through every step to ensure I had a smooth and natural birth. Her clear communication and calm demeanor empowered me during the entire process. I will forever be grateful for both of their expertise and kindness.

Dr. Kenneth E. Holliman was also wonderful throughout my delivery. His calm presence and expert care made me feel at ease and confident knowing I was in good hands.

Additionally, the nurses in the Mummy and Baby department provided excellent postpartum care. They went above and beyond to ensure both my baby and I were comfortable and well-supported during recovery.

The entire team made my experience at Torrance Memorial exceptional. I’m deeply appreciative of the outstanding care I received and would highly recommend their Labor and Delivery department!

I recently experienced a highly frustrating and unclear billing process. In September, I had an office visit for my annual checkup. Due to my family history of breast cancer, they recommended a mammogram. The procedure was authorized by my insurance at zero cost to me, and the appointment was scheduled accordingly.

However, after receiving the service, Torrance Memorial submitted the claim to my insurance as a "diagnostic" procedure instead of "preventive care." As a result, my insurance denied coverage, as it no longer qualified as preventive care. Now, I am being billed a substantial amount for a service that was recommended to me—not something I specifically requested.

Despite multiple calls and follow-ups, I have yet to receive a clear explanation. Instead, the responsibility is continuously shifted between departments without resolution. Why was the order changed from "preventive" to "diagnostic" when submitting the claim to insurance? This lack of transparency and accountability has resulted in an unfair financial burden.

The nursing staff didn’t listen to my Dr. and as a result gave me the wrong treatment for a collapsed lung. The nurses were incredibly rude with terrible bedside manner. I was asked if I wanted to take a covid vaccine 8 different times after I told them no the first time. Overall I had a horrible experience and I’m being transferred to another hospital to finish my treatment because this place is disgusting.

I was on the 3rd floor
I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the treatment I received during my recent stay at Torrance Memorial Medical Center.
I was left in bed with feces on me, and when I needed to go to the restroom, I called for the nurse. She did not respond. After waiting for a long time, I decided to get up on my own despite feeling dizzy. While trying to make my way to the bathroom, I fell inside the bathroom and landed on my left knee. When I told the nurse I was feeling dizzy, she appeared unconcerned and did not provide the care I needed. Also, they injected me so badly that they bruised my arm badly.
Unfortunately, the quality of care I received from certain staff members, particularly the main RN and Dr. Patel, was unacceptable and left me feeling neglected and disregarded. Dr. Patel, suggested I leave if I was unhappy with my care, without addressing my concerns. I informed him that I wished to wait until 3:00 PM for results, but he insisted that I could leave immediately.

The head nurse dismissed my concerns by stating that since I was able to walk, I should manage things like making my bed, repositioning pillows, and using the bathroom on my own, knowing I had low blood pressure and was dizzy.

Due to the lack of proper care and the indifference I experienced, I decided to discharge myself. No one explained the risks of leaving the hospital, I made a note on the forms stating that neither Dr. Patel nor the nurse informed me of potential risks.

While some staff members, such as night nurses, were kind, the main RN and Dr. Patel displayed unprofessional behavior and a lack of empathy for my well-being. If any complications arise as a result of their neglect, I hold them accountable for their failure to provide proper care. The Patel said, he would have released me but did not know why Dr Needed more tests. Very rude, they do not care about the patient. I contacted the Grevience dept and Susan and while explaining my concern, Susan said she was sorry but had another patient which she needed to assist. I called her and left her a message but have not responded and no call back either. Very bad experience. Although the night shift nurses were so kind and responsive. However the daytime ones were a nightmare. Neglect the patient.

Yoooooooo this hospital cafeteria food is actually BANGIN. Had to run down here as my nephew is taking his SWEET time coming out. Young king making us operate on his time, can’t help but respect that.

My expectations were BEYOND low for this meal... I was expecting a premade burrito reheated in a microwave. Desperate times.

To my suprise, I ordered a breakfast burrito and saw the dude throw the eggs, sausage, and bacon fresh on the griddle and cook them right there. I couldn’t believe my eyes. They also had all sorts of different salsas, hot sauces, and other condiments. Locked and LOADED.

I bit into that burrito and hit a stank face as if to say “They’re making burritos this good in a hospital cafeteria?!?! DAMN!”

Pleasant surprises like this every now and then are essential to happiness. You must have peaks to counterbalance the inevitable troughs.

It was under $20 for 2 burritos too… this cafeteria whooping inflation all across the playground.

Anyways, gotta lock back in on nephew watch… take your time though Young King! The world is yours!

Labor and Delivery.
This is a way overdue 5 star review for the labor and delivery team. I came in wailing at 5 cm dilated, first pregnancy and the worst pain of my life. Krystal my nurse, wow she knew exactly what needed to be said and done to comfort and guide me. My anesthesiologist, I do not remember his name, but he was just perfectly reassuring and had a steady hand. Even though my delivery was not the most straight forward, I trusted my team 100% and never questioned I was in the best of hands. Next delivery I will still be coming here.

As someone who has unfortunately suffered with ongoing medical issues since 2002, I've found Torrance Medical Center to be thee most efficient of all hospitals that I've unfortunately had to visit; and I've been to more than a few Southern California hospitals spanning across, the Antelope Valley, and both Los Angeles and Riverside Counties. Again, if not thee best hospital in Southern California..., Torrance Medical Center is definitely one of the best around; PERIOD!

Just a wonderful hospital. We arrived for an emergency and were treated so well by everyone. The whole facility is clean, including the parking lot, lobby and medical bays. Doctor Tang and nurse Bridget were so compassionate caring and professional. We received explanations all along the treatment and tests. Thank you again for all your help, you are the best.
