I just wanted to say how absolutely helpful the office manager Cindy Archila is, as I had to come to the Volunteer Center to get some paperwork done for one of my children.
I was really confused with the process and the paperwork and Cindy was able to patiently and cheerfully guide me through the entire process. I visited the Center about 4 or 5 times and each time I noticed how well she handled the different personalities coming in and out of there. She is always professional and always so patient. I think it makes such a huge difference because I wasn't really sure how much help I would get or if anyone would even welcome me and Cindy was amazing.
She also speaks Spanish which I am sure is super helpful to some people who come in there for assistance.
I was sad to find out she was all alone in the office in the beginning of 2024; but I hear there are more people there now, because I know people have cut into her lunch time constantly to get their paperwork through. I know she works very efficiently and does a great job of explaining various processes, so I really hope people appreciate her and let her actually have lunch once in a while.
I am super thankful for Cindy and the Volunteer Center, it is a wonderful organization. I know there are several Centers around Los Angeles, but I feel like the information and friendliness I found at this Long Beach location is way better than the others that I called for information.

She was so polite, straightforward and helped me put my mistakes of my past in the rearview mirror. Thank you SO much Volunteer Center SouthBay. The lady at the front desk was not helpful and I’m very polite so there wasn’t a reason to be rude . I payed 50 for 40hrs and I chose a place to do my hours . I was not informed it was a first come first serve otherwise I would’ve just found a place myself that’s
guaranteed . I come back the following day to tell her I was not informed and I had to come in because I called multiple times during work hours and there was no answer . I had to take a day off to go in person . She was rude called the place I chose and laughed with the other person on the line to tell me yeah first come first serve and they take 6 people . Either way that information would’ve been great before I payed .

Very unhappy with the portly uneducated Latina that works there. She wouldn't even make eye contact with me while gobbling down her large meat lovers pizza from Canadian Pizza next door. Simultaneously eating a large box of Twinkies from Bud's liquor across the street. Then gulping down a 2 liter Pepsi. Then letting out a belch that would make Homer Simpson blush. Other than that it was pleasant. Thank you for reading and God bless.
