So
Basically I came here with nowhere to go. No family, no help whatsoever. I'm going to give an honest opinion about the things that happen. while I was there, I did see people get kicked out on the street who had children and I'm talking about newborn babies in their hands being told they cannot stay there. I've seen women at the end of their pregnancy get kicked out. And to everyone's knowledge, including the people who lived there. Who knew the most...They did nothing wrong and did not break the rules. I've seen girls who do chores. Everything that they're supposed to do times 10. And it's still not enough for the people who run this place. People who are there all levels up to the CEO need to be drug tested because there were obvious signs that a lot of them were using. It's also very sad and unfortunate. What a lot of girls have to go through to even live there. It's absolute unacceptable there were roaches and rats, my suggestion is to go to another state or county for this kind of help, they are not helping anyone. They're putting money in their pockets.Everyone that works there drives a luxury automobile so that should tell you where the money is going and also I was starving most of the time.I was there so there's a heads up for everyone.Find somewhere else to go that's better.

Casa Theresa is a really clean and beautiful shelter. Some of the staff are great ! There are some people who really care like Angelica in the front office and Karen and Amanda were the best ! I got very lucky when I first arrived because most of the staff was great at the time. Unfortunately Doctor Pugh retired. Unfortunately that’s when the program when more downhill. There were incidents that kept occurring and an influx in drama. When I was there two of of the residents were attacked by another resident even staff was as well. Unfortunately it wasn’t handled until staff was attacked. Everyone was very shaken up. Doctor Pugh started to not care and rapidly declined after he decided to retire. It was a sad thing to see because he used to be so great ! Regardless of all of this it was a great place to stay for some time. It comes and goes in waves sometimes you have a group of awesome girls and sometimes you have a group of bad girls . The staff really try unfortunately some of the staff should’ve retired with doctor Pugh like Susan . She really went downhill with him. She’s said racist things to residents and even about their babies! When I got there it was like that because of that she made everyone very uncomfortable. She picked favorites and told all of the residents this. I was in a different leg of the program ( EMS) and even we knew . Really unprofessional and even would talk about other residents personal information! Really awful but I had a great case manager in EMS. Toni is the best! She’s the sweetest ever she helps you no matter what. She’s amazing shout out to her ! Kim is great but is tough sometimes I think in a lot of cases it is needed in some not so much. She’s great ! I hope she still is helping out EMS she’s great ! Really good job. Unfortunately with the house moms there is some favoritism and they tend to care more when your pregnant . They claim they’ll help but get annoyed when you ask for help more than a few times. But a lot of them were great . That one review was right though they do only care when your pregnant at a point . Many of the classes you have to take are awful and a waste of time. Definitely more relevant things could be taught. Like cooking cleaning time management and many residents bring it up and they shut you down. Other than that it was a great place to stay and I miss it sometimes. Thank you casa Theresa I really hope you can get back up to your old standard because it was amazing.

I was just here and got kicked out. Was told not to start "drama" and told not to people I got kicked out. So most the girls I got close with thought I just chose to leave. They pick and choose favorites. They preach about healthy relationships but when your in a healthy relationship with your baby's father it's wrong. If they find out you see your baby's father or they think your spending to much time with him they'll tell you your not taking the program seriously even if you go to every single group and do everything your told.

Long overdue review. Just graduated nursing school since started as a pregnant woman who was living at casa teresa. I was highly discouraged not to pursue this high of schooling. Program requirements there would change overnight to impossible new standards that impacted my studies and motherhood duties. After giving birth It became a much different program. 95 percent of the women are sent to find new housing without there assistance even though promised bridge program permanent housing or vouchers. It's a scam. They rely heavily on the house moms word and view the homeless women as liars or untrustworthy. We never got our feeling taken into consideration. Everyone from my group all did not get into bridge program not one so I truly believe it doesn't exist. Dr Pugh was the only saving grace and now he is gone. I'm so grateful I pursued my education and didn't rely heavily on there "connections" because just like everyone else me and my son were given less than 24 hr notice of our departure. Thank you casa teresa.

Awesome program for pregnant women, a rather harsh transition to next door, tho. The while time I was there we had three baby showers! I didn't have to buy a thing for my baby, we were all very well provided for, spoiled was more like it! Thanks to Dr. Pugh!

Tomorrow will mark 31 years ago that I met the amazing staff that became my family and girls that became my lifelong friends. God bless the very foundation of this miracle. I made it because of your unconditional love. Don't ever stop or grow weary.

Was here for 6-7 months . They only care when you're pregnant. They stop caring after you have your baby. Alot of favoritism here. Half the staff are fake and rude. I wouldn't recommend it t here
