Hi just because I look homeless i was getting treated like drug addict yesterday.
It was Monday the 10th of February 2025 .

I wanted to receive some information about my medical coverage so I can get help on shelter or housing program . But the lady at window 10 she denied all my questions and the only answer she was telling me is to go back to Los Angeles county . When she finds out I can speak English and I'm not giving up she transferred me to window 8 .
So again at window 8 this time she was talking to me very low I couldn't hear anything. Then I figured out she doing it on purpose so she can make me act loud and disrespectful . It was hard to communicate with her even I can speak English . She also was telling me if I wanna keep my GR money I have to go back to Los Angeles county . I told her that I'm even ready to lose the food stamps benefits if she can help me get job . She really thinks that I'm drug addict just because the community saw me walking and sleeping in the streets for little while now .
And I was getting treated like active drug addict . Now she makes me feel like California is not for me . When I had to travel here with hope while finishing my rehab treatment program and graduated I got surprised how the community don't accept me . What makes it worse is the social security agent was acting little rude seasoned with racism since I'm on bankruptcy and alone in this land

Actually was quick and painless!!!!! I'm from Philadelphia and that is a mess and so frustrating and you never get a real human. I was in and out in less then an hour!!!!!

I figured it would take hours to see a worker but it didn't take long. Renewal of Medi-Cal, the worker updated the computer right there and I was done in an hour!!

I thought the workers, especially by the entrance, were helpful and friendly. I waited a little longer than every body else because I didn't hear my name being called three times. Thats okay because I'm hard-of-hearing and should have said something. Good overall service.

This office has improved since the last couple years i was there. No more long crazy ridiculous lines to get paper work and back in line to submit paperwork. Now you get a number sit down wait to be called to a window they assist you, then sit you back down and when a worker calls your name its your turn. The staff at the entrance can be more friendly, it is frustrating when you need help and they are so reluctant to help you. In short, if you can please try to handle everything through the phone and go in only if necessary. The wait times vary from day to day. I went in on a friday took over 2 hrs, and i went in on a Thursday and wait time was less then an 1hr.

People are very nice and helpful. However the clientele can be rowdy on occasion. Handle your business and keep to yourself. Also the wait times for simple tasks are long. Do not be in a hurry. Be prepared.
