Second Chance Kitty is a wonderful organization! I obtained my "covid kitty" from them a year ago and was so pleased with their service. My kitty had received loving care for several months from her foster home. When I adopted her, the organization provided an identification chip, vaccination record and guidance for when she needed her next veterinary visit. The online interactions were very pleasant and helpful. My kitten is now a beautiful, happy full grown cat who loves her new family as much as she is loved. Thank you, Second Chance Kitty!

If I had to guess at the number of times this rescue has helped me on like zero minutes notice with dire and life threatening situations for feral cats/kittens they would never be able to adopt out…….. It would well be over 100 in just 3 years time! TNR’s that almost always come with no monetary donation……. Hundreds….. That’s just feral and community cats! When it comes to fosters/adoptions! You couldn’t find a more thorough team! Every single kitten and adult cat comes fully vaccinated, combo tested, dewormed, flea treated, spayed/neutered and microchipped. And this is after a mandatory 14 day quarantine to make sure there are no unforeseen disease that can be asymptomatic for up to 14 days. If these cats need bloodwork, testing, procedures, specialists or specialty medicine, they always get it!!!!They are very selective during the adoption process to ensure the home is a perfect fit for the cat. This is hands down the best rescue I’ve ever worked with. Ever!!!!!

I recently adopted 2 kittens from this rescue and I have to say I’m extremely impressed with their health and condition. All of the cats on display seem to be very healthy, lively and clean. I was very impressed with how clean their living spaces were. That tells me that there is a tremendous amount of effort, time and care that is dedicated to ensure the cats have the best chance of being adopted, not only were they healthy, well fed and taken care of but the two that I adopted were also extremely friendly and warmed up quickly to me as I did them. It was so hard to choose because they were all wonderful. Much respect to the organization and all the time and effort that goes into these fur babies. They also conduct a very extensive and thorough screening / adoption process. For a second I was wondering if my application was going to be accepted but when I got the call I was so happy. I understand they just want the best for cats and since they put so much effort into them it’s understandable that they want to find one and only home. Great job again keep up the fantastic work!

In a community with an overwhelming need for improved animal welfare, Second Chance Kitty navigates the complexities of partnering with veterinarians, shelters, animal control in multiple city jurisdictions, volunteers, fosters, and eventual adoptive pet parents. It’s such a huge effort and service and I can’t imagine the community without them. Their compassion and commitment to sick, injured, and abandoned kittens and cats in the high-need communities surrounding Stockton is so heartening. They have saved so many innocent, vulnerable lives by finding and recruiting qualified fosters.

I took home a kitten that had lost an eye to a severe eye infection and had terrible scarring with shadow visibility in her remaining eye (+ an ear infection).Thanks to Second Chance Kitty and their partnership with U.C. Davis, my kitten’s eye was not only saved (the doctors considered removing it to prevent later complications), but two surgeries later, she now has 25-30% vision and is thriving.
