Seemed like it was a good idea at first, put me in a room for 2 nights, but know even though said they can help, kinda seems like don’t want to help out much.

Update.. after previous review and response from owner. I reached out again, found a place to move into, sent all the information they needed, got my hopes all up only to find out about all the loopholes and I was left with nothing. Just More to add to my depression. You would think, hopefully, after leaving with nothing somebody would still reach out and try to help instead of kicking me to the curb after getting hopes up. I hate leaving reviews. Maybe others have had better luck than ive had.

Another update as of Dec. 2, 2024. Recently received a text from Becky, I guess checking up on me. Told her I found a place but the propane which runs my heater was out so she referred me to some place and they were not able to help, so with my rent money I had to refill my propane tank which now made me short on my rent, I texted her regarding this and like I figured got no response back from her. Seems like Mountain Homeless just likes to get hopes up and then leaves you hanging when you’re in need. First Susan and now Becky! If you do get any help consider yourself lucky I guess. This is ridiculous now.

I called because I needed temporary housing and they said “unless I have a job or reliable income they can’t help me” I’ve been looking for temporary housing for awhile now and cannot get a job due to my PTSD and I feel like they aren’t actually trying to help you at all.. Now I have to get rid of all of my personal belongings and probably get rid of my computers which I use for schooling and drop out of college and find a homeless shelter to stay in when realistically I just needed temporary housing somewhere safe and close to my family but I feel as though that isn’t going to happen I’m pretty disappointed and now I have to continue with my situation that I don’t want to be in…

About eleven twelve days ago I fell upon a stroke of bad luck and found myself homeless. Not having a car or couch to crash on I decided to camp out in the woods. No big deal right, or so I thought. However I was not aware of the storm coming in, it literally rained for 48 hours straight. With no place to go I became drenched, cold and shivering. I decided to hike to a local business and called 911. I was rushed to a local hospital with a core temp. Of less then 90°. While in the hospital after 4 days, I was referred to this organization and was told by the staff at the hospital that they would contact them and try to get me some help. Yesterday I decided to take matters into my own hands and reach out myself. I called the number given and it went to voice-mail. I left a message and within 15 minutes I received a call from Susan and I explained my situation. She immediately was able to provide me with emerging shelter and then to offer me permanent housing. On Friday I will be moving into my own home. We have talked on the phone as well as meeting in person, and I believe that we have began a friendship that will last a lifetime. Going forward I will be doing anything I can to work together to help others in need. She is truly an angel of God

Amazing organization!!!! I am so blessed to have found the help my son and I desperately needed. Susan went above and beyond to find us stable housing, which we have not had for quite sometime. I can’t speak highly enough of the heartwarming experience we had with Susan and the staff at MHC. What a wonderful and caring group of people. They do truly care about people and they do everything in their power to ease the uncertainty of homelessness. Bless you, Susan and the Mountain Homeless Coalition!!!! My son and I will forever be grateful for the kindness shown to us ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wont sugar coat it. Heard mixed reviews about mhc. However, theough my recent experience i was evicted from my home of 5 years through no fault of my own. My previous landlord wanted to evict my roomate. Sadly, i was collateral damage merely because i shared the lease with him. My landlord wanted me to stay after all was said and done, but had a change of heart as he wanted to turn into air bnb $$$. They (mhc) went above and beyond and got me housed within 3 days of my eviction. Sure there were some inconveniences but they were very helpful nonetheless. I certainly recommend them if you find youreself in a horrible rut. Forwarning, you cannot expect a free handout with 0 effort or work on your own. Theyre there to help not support. Shoutout Miss Beckie and Susan worked tirelessly on the weekend their time off at home to help!

I recently reached out to the Mountain Homeless Coalition with help with my water being shut off. I’m 8 months pregnant and have a 2-year old son and so we needed to have running water. I’m a high risk pregnancy and I can’t work and I had fallen behind on the bill. They were absolutely amazing! They responded so quickly and went above and beyond to get my water turned back on immediately. I wasn’t expecting water until the next day and somehow I had running water that evening even after the water company was closed for the day. I couldn’t believe it! They also reached out to me about other programs and assistance that I didn’t even know existed or that I would qualify for and they are now trying to help me with some very serious problems I have been having at my residence. I’m so grateful for their help and to have found them because I don’t know how I would be able to navigate most of these issues on my own with limited knowledge of things like renter’s rights, etc.

anyone looking to get housing from the mountain Homeless Coalition I would like anyone to refrain going through them they are not as good as what they seem to be there have been board members that have harassed our family have made threats to us on emotional texts we have all the evidence and proof to provide we are going to be opening up a civil case against them they have violated a bunch of stuff they also hired someone without doing a proper background check that was already on the Megan's Law and they already admitted that an email they told their case manager to come up and try to resolve the issues that were going around here but then also told her not to download any of the evidence that we had and we have all the emails all the texts we have all the video recordings to back up our statements you guys are going to be hearing about us and the news they come off fake just so you guys know but they're not good people and we have a lot of documentation to prove otherwise but I can't put it on here or state any names if you guys have any questions or concerns feel free the private message me they have also violated our rights to our privacy they have neglected to keep this property safe they have failed to keep this property up to code they were hit with violations they like to do sneaky stuff and they like to only put the people that don't stick up for themselves and they try to bully people and they think they're just going to back down but they mess with the wrong family anybody wants to say anything negative about this comment before you do realize there's going to be a civil suit against the mountain Homeless Coalition and some of the tenants here and we got all the evidence to back it up videos messages text messages emails text messages from export members.
